1. What do I need to bring?
You should bring groceries, personal toiletries, ice, and paper towels . . . the rest is here. The home is on well water so if that is not your preference, bottled water might be a good idea to bring also.
2. Where do I buy groceries?
Logan at the S.R. 664 exit on S.R. 33 has both a Wal-Mart and a Kroger. This is approximately 13 miles from the house and makes a nice spot to make calls or stretch your legs. In McArthur, approximately 9 miles south on Route 93 there is a new [as of August 2017] local small grocery store, Campbell’s Market. On Route 56, about 4.5 miles from Old Man’s Cave is Harper’s Gas and Grocery.
4. Are the cabins close to the caves, trails, etc. where are they located?
We are located just 10 miles from Old Man’s Cave and the trails, and approximately 13 miles from Logan, and 9 miles from McArthur.
5. Do you have any special things that can be arranged? Traveling chefs, masseuse, gift baskets or cards?
Yes, there are a few options: Half Baked Catering, will provide fully prepared meals for home delivery that you can re-heat if you don’t want to go out and you don’t want to cook. In addition, the Grouse Nest has a traveling chef you can make arrangements directly with and we do have a few massage therapists we can connect you to so you can make those appointments. All of these are additional services from small businesses we can refer you to if you’d like and you’ll make arrangements with the service provider directly.
Gift baskets and gift cards can also be arranged, just contact us and we can arrange a personal gift arrangement to meet your needs and budget.
We do not publish the address to insure our guests privacy. We will provide you directions and the physical address when we discuss your booking.
You can also reach us by phone, 1 (614) 309-0897, between 9am-7pm (EST) most days. If we do not answer, leave a message letting us know the best time to reach you and we will return your call.
